SILVER AWARD at the international contest THE OLYMPIA HEALTH AND NUTRITION AWARDS

Another important distinction for our olive oil, as it won the SILVER AWARD at the international competition THE OLYMPIA HEALTH AND NUTRITION AWARDS 2022.
The olive oil awards were given with the sole criterion of its content in the health-protective substances of the European health claim regulation.
1050 olive oil samples from 10 countries participated in the tender process. The awards were made by the international non-profit organization World Olive Center for Health (WOCH).
According to the European Regulation 432/2012 (L 136 / 25.5..2012 p. 26) of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA: European Food & Safety Authority), the Health Claim -Health Claim, can carry only the olive oil that contains at least 250mg polyphenols per 1Kg of olive oil. Olive oil polyphenols help protect blood lipids from oxidation. The complex of oleocanthal, oleasin and derivatives found in olive oil with the above concentration has protective properties for health and has a positive effect on the prevention of heart attacks, the treatment of inflammation, while recent research has shown that they shield the human body against Alzheimer’s disease . This beneficial result is obtained from the daily intake of 20 grams of olive oil.
